YinYang

Summary

"This story starts on a dying planet..."

The human race celebrates life with festivals and lived for granted. They always had tomorrow to finish what they started today. But death has made us new rituals and traditions much like life has given us before. Fear was our new friend.

“But Mai-Chan, when you look death in its eyes, remember, don’t let the shadows take away your light”

Prologue

“This story starts on a dying planet…”

An orchestra of footsteps could be heard as I touch her rosy cheeks motherly. Doctors, nurses, and estranged family members rushed pass us noticing little to none of our existence as theirs were being challenged.

“Our existence is in the brink of extinction.”

Mai Aisaki was confused, as she always was, but she knew for certain beyond the grey that she had always known was a pit of blackness. The balance of yin and yang has been disturbed and anyone that still believe in hope, light and happiness eventually falls into emptiness, terror and oblivion. Death was ominously present.

My breath hitched as my eyes fluttered open frantically, searching for familiarity and comfort. They rested on the swinging fan, the white-washed curtains and the grey feathered dream catcher.

“Having a nightmare again, Mai-Chan?”
