Wild Sleepover

Summary

Hi my name is Cookie and I'm throwing a super wild sleepover wanna come

Intro:

Cookie's Wild Sleepover

Hi, Cookie, here; I just love sleepovers.

And be honest who just doesn't love them

pigging out on foods you normally wouldn't be

allowed to eat

staying up way long after your bedtime.

Which any time your mom lets you stay up after

your bedtime is awesome

So, when my mom finally gave in and let me have

one before.

We went away on our Xmas vacation

I was beyond excited

The morning of my party we got up early

and headed out to the stores

to buy some snacks and other supplies.

And if it wasn't for my mom,

I'd have brought out every store we went to

When we got home I cleaned my room and

started setting up

for my party.

Growing more and more excited with each

passing minute

To me; this was going to be the best sleepover ever.

half an hour later my doorbell rang

"Hey, guys,"

 I smiled as I let in two of my best friends;

Daisy Penguin and Vicky Dragonfly

A few minutes later we were eating all sorts of goodies

and exchanging school gossip.

But what had my stomach hurting from laughter

was when we started crank calling our other

two best friends;

Tommy Cub and Sammy Turtle

I know it’s a bit mean especially since Sammy

 gets easily creeped out

With just about everything. But after a few calls

they figured it out it was us and swore to get us back

Even still I’ve a funny feeling that Sammy’s going

 to be

checking underneath his bed tonight

We turned off the lights and winded down

then took turns telling each other spooky stories

Afterward, one by one we drifted off to sleep

and that’s when my dream began…

Chapter 1

Chapter 1:

It was a gloomy afternoon when we rode our bikes over

 to my aunt’s house.

Who lived out towards the far end of town.

And promised us a very special reward for helping her

 clean her new house

That she just finished buying and was turning into

 a b and b

“Wow, this place looks more like a creepy castle than

 an old house.” Sammy whistled

as he and the others got off our bikes and walked

towards an old gray stone-brick house that was

surrounded by overgrown trees

“Yah, it does look pretty gloomy,” Tommy added

as they slowly walked up the driveway

I rang the front doorbell and the door

 cracked as it opened

“Hello, and welcome to Havens Manor!”

My aunt cried out as she welcomed us inside

“Hi, thanks. Umm wow.” I began

A bit messy huh?”

My aunt laughed as we looked around

 the living room.

Dirty rags were lying around and

there were dozens of unpacked boxes

stacked everywhere in the room

“I know it looks like a big dumpsite.

 But in a few days,

it’ll be the greatest B and B in all of Rocky Shores.”

 She added

“Umm,

aren’t you the only B and B around in Rocky Shores?”

Sammy asked in a confused tone of voice

“That’s right Sammy,

that’s why it’ll be the best one.

Now why don’t I show you where your rooms are

“Then after you kids,

finish unpacking we’ll meet back in the best room

 of the house.”

 My aunt smiled

“Which room is that?” Tommy asked

“Why the kitchen of course!”

An hour later we found the boys sitting around

the kitchen table munching on some chips

“Well, took you guys long enough to come down.

Sammy and I were starting to think that you got lost

 or something.”

 Tommy joked

“It’s Daisy’s fault.

I swear, she’s going to move in instead of

just spending the weekend.” Vicky laughed

“Very funny,

so, I couldn’t figure out what to bring what else

 is new?”

 Daisy shrugged smiling

Chapter 2

Chapter 2:

Soon afterward we began working on unpacking my

 aunt’s boxes

“So, do you really think that your aunt’s

going to have this place

ready by the end of the month?”

Sammy asked me.

I looked around the messy room and sighed

“For her sakes, I certainly hope so.”

Sammy nodded before adding

“My brother told that

it was pretty brave of her to

 buy this old place.

 Especially with all the

stories

attached to it.”

“Oh, here we go.” Tommy groan

“Whatever dude,

I wasn’t going to say that the place was

 haunted.

But supposal has a secret railroad hidden

inside of it.”

 Sammy shrugged.

We just looked at him with confused faces waiting

for him to continue

What?

Sammy laughed then continued

“It’s not what you’re thinking.

From what I read on the internet a long, long

Time ago life wasn’t very nice for certain kids

 and their families

“They were bullied, abused

and sometimes stolen from their homes.

Just because of their fur color.”

“Oh wow, that’s so sad.” Daisy cried

“Total, so to make a better life

they had to secretly escape from their homes.

Which at that time wasn’t all that easy.” He agreed

“Escape?”

Why didn’t they just move?” Tommy frowned

“Because they weren’t allowed to.

 They lived in those houses,

but they weren’t really- free to do anything like

 we can do.

And if they were caught leaving they were punished

and sometimes thrown into cells forever.”

 Sammy answered him

“This is beyond sad.” Cookie sobbed

“Do you know how they’d escape and

what it has to do with my aunt’s house?”

 She added

“According to what my brother told me is that;

the first owner of this house was very rich

 and very kind

And was rumored to have built a tunnel somewhere

 in this house

that would not only hide these families

but help them travel safely to the next safe house

“Until they reach a place in where they could live in

 total freedom.

 Not only was he known

for having built these freedom tunnels all

 over town.

But they also said that he’d hide gold coins

inside these tunnels and give the families maps on

 where to find them

So,

they wouldn’t be without any money when

they reach their destination.”

 Sammy answered him

Tommy, who had been rocking his chair back

and forth.

Suddenly lost his balance and smacked the head

Of his chair against the wall

Making a big hole through it

“Whoa!” He cried out before he fell along

with the chair to the floor

“Tommy, are you okay?”

Both Sammy and I asked as we went to help him

“Yah, I think so. But I’m sorry Cookie,

I hope your aunt won’t be upset about the hole.”

 He mumbled

“Don’t worry.

I’m sure she’ll just be glad that you didn’t

 hurt yourself.” I smiled

“Hey guys, I think there’s something inside.”

Vicky told them after peeking inside the hole

She slowly pulled out a small metal box and

blow the dust off the lid

“I wonder what’s inside of it,” I asked

“Well, we’re soon about to find out.”

 She smiled

Chapter 3

Chapter 3:

She slowly opened it. Inside was an old fade map along with

 a note that read:

Blessings,

I know times right now are hard but hold on

 a bit farther

It’ll be all over soon and you’ll soon be free

Free to begin again and live out a happy life without

 any fears

You’re welcome to hide in these tunnels all you like to.

until you feel safe enough to move to the next part

 of your journey to freedom.

But whenever you decide to move on

Please follow the directions on this map to the fullest

 and stay safe

I also left a few gold coins for you

to have in hopes making your journey better

Stay safe and better yet a safe and happy journey

For a moment none of us spoke until Tommy broke

 the silence

“Oh wow, what else does it say?”

“Don’t know the rest of the letter is too faded to

 make out.”

 Vicky shrugged.

She took out what looked like a small gold coin

and held it up. So, they all could see it

“Whoa, I wonder if that’s one of the coins?”

 Sammy whistled.

Tommy rolled his eyes before he snorted

“Duh!” Of course, it is,

why else would it be hidden inside the wall.

And now that we found it we’re going to be rich!”

“Wrong Tommy,

you should know better that we don’t take things

that don’t belong to us. We’re going to.”

 Daisy began

“Go and find the rest of coins!” I interrupted

“What?”

Shouldn’t we wait for your aunt to come back and

let her call the cops or something?”

 Sammy asked

“What’s the fun in that” and since

when do we just give up on going on an adventure

and let the cops it?” Tommy frowned

“Exactly, and this could be our biggest one yet.

We’ll just leave her a note telling her

what happened and where she can look for us.

“So, what do you say all good?” I added smiling.

We eagerly stared at Sammy waiting for his responds

Who just smiled back at me and nodded his head yes

Chapter 4

Chapter 4:

Soon afterwards

we headed out following the direction on the map

until we reached a big steeped rocky hill

“Great,

how are we supposed to get down there?”

 Daisy asked

“Easy,

I’ll go down first, then you girls will follow.

 Sammy,

you’ll go last just in case any of the girls need help.”

 Tommy answered her.

Slowly one by one we carefully made it down the hill

then continued until we finally found the tunnel’s

 old entrance

“I’ve a real bad feeling about this.

Why don’t we just go back and wait for your aunt

and come back with her.” Sammy whined

“Dude, you always have a bad feeling!”

stop begin such a dork and let’s go inside

“History awaits!”

Tommy laughed patting him on the

 back

We walked into the tunnel looking for any signs of

hidden treasures without any luck. We were about to

 give up and turn back

when we felt a cool breeze that wasn’t

 there before

we walked towards it and

grew more excited when we noticed

a giant hole

“Oh wow,

I bet the treasure is buried in there!”

Tommy yelled out as he slowly climbed

through it

“Tommy, how can you know that?”

 Daisy frowned

“Because I’m staring at it.”

Tommy smiled as he peeked his head back out

We all followed Tommy back inside and noticed

a small cot and table. two large rocks pushed

together with two small rocks on top of it

And on top of the rocks was an old wood ledge

holding a small metal box

That looked a lot like the one they found

earlier

“Okay Tommy, go get the box,

take pictures and get out of here.”

Sammy told him

“Me?” why don’t you go get it?”

 Tommy frowned

” Seriously you guys, grow up.”

I smirked before I walked over towards it

But as I went to grab it the rocks slightly shifted

causing me along with the box to crash onto

the floor

Chapter 5

Chapter 5:

“Cookie!” Look out!” Vicky yelled out.

But it was to late a big rock suddenly fell off

landing right on my front right paw

“Oh no, Cookie, try not to move okay.

You girls stay with her; keep her comfortable until

Sammy and me come back with me.”

 Tommy nervously told them

before he ran off followed by Sammy

They ran out and climbed up the hill

when they bumped right into Cookie’s aunt

“Finally, I found you.

I’ve been going crazy looking for you kids

 all over.” She began

“Umm, sorry,

but there’s been an accident

we need to help Cookie.”

 Sammy interrupted

“What?” Where is she!”

 She yelled out.

And as they ran back the boys

quickly told her what had just happened

“I really wish they’d hurry,

my paw is starting to go numb.

And I’m getting really thirsty.” I sighed

“Begin thirsty is the least of your troubles,

young lady.” An angry voice answered her

“Aunt Bell!” I’m really, really sorry.” I sobbed

“We’ll discuss this later Cookie, right now

I’ve to get you kids out of here safely.”

 My aunt frowned.

She went over to me and tried to move the rock,

but it was to heavy for her to move it alone

“Okay, kids I need all your help.

On the count of three push as hard as you can

“And Cookie,

when we push I need for you to pull your

 paw away.

It’s going to hurt but I need you to be brave and

pull it away as quickly as you can okay?”

 Cookie’s aunt instructed

“Okay, one, two, three!” She added

Chapter 6

Chapter 6:

After spending a few hours at the hospital

so, they could take care of my paw

We headed back to my aunt’s house

“You’re very lucky that your paw wasn’t broken.

Just badly sprain.”

 My aunt scowled me

“I’m very upset with you kids,

what if I didn’t find you when I did.”

 She added frowning

The next day we retold my aunt Bell the whole

story,

who after hearing all of it

phoned the police and the local papers

a few hours later my aunt’s living room was filled

with news reporters and police officers all

asking us question after question

Of what we found and

how we knew to look for it

“That was some adventure you kids, been on.

I heard about these stories from

my grandpa growing up

“But I really never believed them.

I guess at that age it was

To hard to believe

that any kid had to go through such a hard and

sadness time just because they looked different

from the other kids.”

One of the reporters told the group

“But thanks to you kids, we know that

 all those stories

Were truth. And hopefully,

we can find out more about the

Tunnels and the families that travel

through them.” He added smiling

“What about the gold coins?”

What’s going to happen to them?”

 Tommy asked

They all just stared at one another

and shrugged

“That’s a very good question, Tommy,

I guess since they were found in Bell’s house

“They’re hers.”

 One of the officers answered

“That’s very nice. But I’ve a better idea.”

 My aunt smiled

Chapter 7

Chapter 7:

Later that day my aunt treated us to all the

Ice cream that we could eat

“Well, I’m really going to miss you kids.”

 My aunt smiled

“Us too.

We had a blast hanging out with you and

 especially exploring those tunnels.”

 Vicky smiled back

“Totally aunt Bell,

I’m so proud that you decided to put off

opening your B and B. to let

Mr. Blue horn, our local historian and

 his team explore

the tunnels more, so they can get more

 information about them and

the families that walked through them.”

 I added

“Thank you, Cookie,

I only hope that they discover brand

new information.

And hopefully by telling these poor families’ stories

and the hardship they had to go through

“We’ll finally learn that no matter how different

we may look, how different our values are,

or what we may believe in

That deep inside we’re all the same.

And you should never be punished,

scared or bullied for these things.”

 My aunt answered

And as I went to give her a big hug

 a voice....

Present time

“Cookie, Cookie!”

“Huh?” What?” I cried out

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you.

But you were snoring so loud that you

didn’t hear your mom calling out for you.”

 Vicky laughed.

Giving her a you’re not funny frown

I went downstairs and found my mom in

 the kitchen

“You were calling me?” I asked

“Oh yes, Cookie,

sorry to wake you up so early

. But I just got off the phone with Aunt Bell

And guess what?

“She just brought the old Havens Manor.

And is going to turn it into a B and B

Isn’t that great?” My mom answered

“Anyways,

she was wondering if you and your friends

would like to spend next weekend

And help her get the place ready for

the grand opening.” She added smiling

“That sounds great. I can’t wait to tell.”

Suddenly my dream popped into my head

“Wait, did you just say that

she brought the old Havens place?” I asked

“Yes sweetie, why?”

Cookie, are you okay?”

You look like you just saw a ghost or something.”

My mom asked me frowning

“No, not a ghost.

But after I tell you about the dream that I

had last night you’ll know why

I’m suddenly a little freaked out!”

 I laughed
