The story beginnings

~~THE COIN DOLLS
It was a gloomy afternoon and the gang was bored. They were hanging out inside of Cookie’s bedroom deciding on what to do for the day

“Gee, I forgot how boring this town is when we’re not working on a case. There’s nothing to do,” Daisy Penguin sighed before she popped another cheese ball into her mouth
“Hey! I know of something that we can do” Tommy Cub suggested. “Why don’t we ride our bikes over to Banks River?”
“School will be starting in less than two weeks. This could be our last chance to spend the afternoon fishing, before the lake freezes,”
“Umm, I don’t think that’s such a great idea. It’s about four mile ride out there and by the time we get there it’ll be to late to go fishing,” Sammy Turtle answered him
“Oh, don’t be such a limo Sammy, we’ll just grab a few bags of chips and some other stuff. And camp out we should be having fun instead of just sitting here being bored all day,” Tommy answered him
“I agree, I just hope that this trip won’t be as lame as the last time. We all camped out there not only did it rain, but the only thing anyone caught.” Was that little fish that was the size of Cookie’s tail!” Daisy added laughing

Then after getting their parents’ permission and their camping gear along with some other stuff.  They headed out towards Banks River

A few hours later they were setting up camp
“Hey Timmy, are you sure it’s okay with your mom that you came out here with us?” Vicky Dragonfly asked him as she helped him with his tent
“Yah, I’m sure. She really doesn’t care much about what I’m doing these days.” She’s to busy working,” Their friend Timmy Buggy sighed
“I’m sure that’s not true,” Vicky smiled at him
“That’s right, isn’t she working with that weird guy Peter something. They are supposed to get everything ready for the end of the summer block party street bash,” Tommy added
“Peter Fisher, he just brought the old craft store up in Main Street. Ever since she went to work for him I hardly see her anymore”
“I understand that we need the money especially after dad died. But I figured she’d just work a few hours a day, not spend every waking moment with him. I just don’t get it,” Timmy cried out
“It’ll be okay Timmy, I’m sure that even though you may not understand it she has her reasons, she may not act like she does right now. But she cares more then you’ll ever know about you and what you’re up to,” Cookie told him before giving him a big supportive hug
“Well if you ask me that dude’s beyond weird he--,”Tommy began. Daisy interrupted him by poking him in the ribs
“If we wanted to hear your grand option we’d have asked but we didn’t so zip it Tommy?” She frowned

They spent the rest of the afternoon goofing around and fishing, later that night. They sat around a big campfire taking turns telling spooky stories
The next morning they got up early to do more fishing but before they could the girls cleaned up while the boys went to gather up some more fire wood

The boys were on their way back to their campsite. When Timmy whispered over to them
“Hey look over there!” Isn’t that Fisher, what’s he doing out here?”
“I don’t know. But how strange is it that he drove all the way out here just to throw out his garbage,” Sammy answered him back. After they noticed that Peter was just staring with a big frown on his face at a bunch of garbage bags that he was trying to hide along the river bank.
“Maybe, we should go over there and see what’s inside those bags?” Timmy told them
“What!” Are you nuts or something?” I don’t think that he came all this way cause he wanted a bunch of nosey kids going through his garbage!” Sammy yelled at him
“Good point Sammy, I don’t think he wants anyone to see what’s inside those bags even more of a reason. On why we should go and see,” Tommy answered him back smiling

A short while later they told the girls what they just finished seeing
“Oh wow!” And did you guys, see what was inside the bags?” Cookie asked them
“Nope, we came straight over here we wanted to make sure that he didn’t see us,” Timmy answered her. Then after talking it over they decided that if they didn’t go and see it would drive them nuts. Not knowing what was inside those bags

They quietly walked over to the spot in where the boys have seen Mr. Fisher throw away his bags
“Okay, there they’re big deal. Can we just go back, pack up our stuff and go home now?” Sammy whined
“Keep your shell on Sammy,” Tommy began. Daisy interrupted Tommy by picking up one of the bags and looked inside of it
“There’s nothing in here but a bunch of creepy old broken dolls in here,” She frowned
“How weird. Why’d he come all the way over here just to hide bags full of dolls?” Cookie asked them
“Yah, not only are these dolls creepy looking but they’re beyond ugly too!” Timmy laughed. As he took one of the dolls out of the bag and got a closer look at it
“Oh hey! This one has a big hole on top of its head,”
“Can I see it?” Vicky asked him
“Yah, here,”
Vicky took the doll and shook it
“I think there’s something inside of it,” She told them. She flipped the doll over and a whole bunch of gold coins spilled onto the ground
“Whoa!” Is that what I think it is?” Timmy whistled. Vicky picked up one of the coins from the ground and took a closer look at it
“Looks pretty real to me,” She shrugged
“Oh wow! We’re going to be rich!” Tommy cried out happily
“Tommy, do us all a big favor and don’t talk for the rest of the day okay?” Daisy smirked
“No wonder Mr. Fisher, hide these bags out here” Cookie added. “He probably believed that this would be the perfect hiding spot for them. I bet all these dolls are filled with gold coins
“Yah, but where did they come from and why does he have them hidden?” Daisy asked
“Well there’s only one way to find out let the cops handle it. We can ask them to tell us all about it some other time,” Sammy shrugged

Then after they placed the dolls back inside the bags and leaving them like they found them. They hurried back to their campsite to gather up their stuff and returned back home

A few hours later they were back inside their club house
“I can’t believe that we just left those dolls back there,” Tommy whined
“Tommy, what did I say about you speaking?” You know that we couldn’t just take them they don’t belong to us to take,” Daisy scowled him
“Well I’m pretty sure that those coins don’t belong to Fisher either. He probably stole them from some place--,” Timmy began
“That’s why we should just go to the police station and let them deal with it,” Sammy interrupted
“Sammy, the cops are never going to believe us when we tell them that we witness Fisher dump bags filled with gold filled dolls out there. They’ll just laugh at us,” Timmy frowned
“Not if we go with your mom or some other adult and have them tell them. They’ll believe them then they’ll ask him where he got all those coins from and why he hide them out there,” Sammy shrugged
“They’ll probably laugh at us too. Besides Fisher’s a con man who has them all fooled especially my mom, she thinks he’s just soooooooo great” It makes me sick how she talks about him on how wonderful he’s helping our school build a new gym, how much time and money he’s giving to  the town for this party bash, etc..” Timmy smirked
“So what are we going to do?” Daisy asked them
“I don’t know about you guys, but I’m going to keep a real close eye on our good friend Mr. Fisher,” Timmy sighed

A couple days later they put their plan into action. That Thursday afternoon. They were back inside their club house discussing their new case

“For the last few days we’ve staked out Fisher’s store. And all we’ve seen was a bunch of old folks coming out with some old junk” And your mom going in and out of work,” Sammy frowned
“Yah, great help she’s. I tried talking to her about Fisher, to see if I could get some back ground information about him” But all she did was shrugged and say that she didn’t know. She couldn’t even tell me where he came from,” Timmy started to explain
“Weird,” Vicky frowned
“This Saturday, is the party bash and I was thinking that we should break into Fisher’s store. And see if we can find some kina of clue on how we can bust this creep,” Timmy continued
“Oh no! No way!”  What are you nuts? What if we get caught?” We can go to jail or worst!” Sammy cried out
“No one’s going to catch us Sammy, even if someone sees us in there. I’ll just tell them that I’m looking for my mom,” Timmy shrugged

They decided to break in the next night. They tried opening the back door but of course it was locked. They were about to give up when Timmy found a small open window that he could climb through
“This isn’t such a great idea. What if he has a burglar alarm or something,” Sammy told him before Timmy climbed in
“Get real Sammy, this is Rocky Shores, we don’t even lock our front door. Now Tommy and I will climb in and let you and the girls in okay,” Timmy answered him

Soon afterwards they were inside
“Exactly what are we looking for?” Sammy whispered
“Anything that will help us prove that Fisher’s nothing but a good down phony robber,” Timmy answered him
“Oh,” Sammy shrugged. Daisy looked over at Sammy and laughed
“What Timmy, meant to say was that we should be looking for anything. We can show the cops that’ll help prove our case against Fisher,”
And before Sammy had a chance to answer her back Vicky cried out
“Hey check this out. These look just like the dolls that we found out at Bank Rivers!”
“Yah, and I bet that they’re filled with gold coins just like the others,” Tommy added picking up one of the dolls and shaking it. Daisy was about to tell him to put the doll back. When a loud voice interrupted
“I’m telling you Fisher, I went over to the spot you told to. And the bags weren’t there!” You wouldn’t be hold out on me would you?”
“What?” But it has to be there! That’s where I left them!” Fisher cried out
“Well, it’s not anymore are you sure nobody saw you when you place the bags?” The stranger frowned. Fisher thought about that for a moment before he answered back
“Timmy”
“What!” Peter, please don’t bring my son into this there’s no way that he had anything to do with this,” Timmy’s mom frowned
“Don’t be so naive Molly, there’s no secret that your nosey son and his friends don’t like me. Peter growled. “Just the other day one of my customers told me how they’ve seen them seeking around the store”
“And if I remember correctly weren’t they camping on that day?” He added smirking
“Still I don’t care—“Molly began
“Wait, are you saying that you believe that her son and his friends stole my bags?” The stranger frowned
“Yes, who else?” Those bags were there when I left and no one else knew about it,” Peter nodded
“Then what are we waiting for? Let’s go and find these kids and ask them,” The stranger sneered. “And Peter, for your sakes I hope that you’re telling me the truth.”

A few minutes later the gang came out of their hiding spot
“Oh great!” Now what are we going to do?” Sammy cried out. “Not only do we’ve to worry about Fisher, now we’ve his spooky friend after us too,”
“I hate to agree with Sammy, maybe it’s time that we go and talk with the police,” Daisy added
“But if we do what will happened to my mom. She’s still with those two idiots what if they try to do something to her?” Timmy cried out
“I’m sure she’s going to be fine Timmy, we better get out of here though. I don’t want to still be in here if they decide to come back.” Cookie told him

A while later they were back at their club house
“Okay, tomorrow is the street bash and the whole town will be there. So before the day gets to crazy we should go see the Chief, and tell him what we found,” Cookie suggested
“But we still don’t have enough proof what if he doesn’t believe us?” Sammy began
“Oh, I think he’ll,” Tommy interrupted smiling
“You do why?” Daisy frowned
“He’ll have to when he sees this!” Tommy answered waving one of the dolls in front of him
“Tommy, where did you get that from?” Vicky asked
“I tucked it under my shirt before we left Fisher’s store. I’m sure that when we show him the doll and tell him about the rest” He’ll have to believe us and arrest Fisher and his friend,” Tommy explained
“I certainly hope so,” Timmy sighed

The next day Cookie, Daisy and Vicky were waiting for the boys by the local post office
“I wonder what’s taking them so long.” Daisy asked
“That’s what we were wondering about you guys,” A voice from behind her answered. Daisy turned around to find that Tommy and Sammy were standing right behind them
“Where have you been?” We’ve been waiting for you guys over an hour to get here?” She frowned
“Yah, and where’s Timmy?” I figured that he’d be with you,” Vicky added
“No, we thought he was with you. We went to his house early this morning, but nobody answered the door” We got worried so we just went straight to the police station and talked with the Chief,” Sammy started to explain. “He wants us to go back to the station and wait for him there until. Until he gets back from Banks River and checks out our story about Fisher,” He added
“Oh, so what are we waiting for?” Let’s go.” Cookie smiled

An hour or so later they were back at Banks River looking around
“Umm, I’m pretty sure that I said that the chief wanted us to wait for him at the police station not out here,” Sammy protested
“Shhh! Look,” Vicky interrupted him pointing to a few feet in front of them was Timmy, his mom, Peter and his friend
“Okay kid, I’m going to ask you again where are my bags!” The stranger cried out
“Now, now there’s no need to yell at the kid, now Timmy, I know that you’re scared. But it’s okay just tell us what we want to know” And you and your mom can go back home okay?” Peter told him
“Peter, for god’s sakes! Just leave him alone he’s only a kid! He doesn’t know anything!” Molly yelled
“Relax Molly, there’s no need to get upset I just promised that as soon as Timmy, tells us. You’ll be free to go no harm done isn’t that right Timmy?” Peter smiled. Timmy was about to answer him back. When Peter’s friend pulled out a gun and pointed at them
“Whoa!” Are you crazy put that thing away before you hurt someone!” Peter cried out. And before any of them could react. A voice yelled out
“Hold it right there!”

Soon after wards the camp site was filled with police officers and scared parents

The next afternoon they were all gathered inside their clubhouse talking about the case
“I can’t thank you guys, enough I thought I was a goner for sure when he pulled out that gun,” Timmy was telling them
“Yah, that was pretty scary. But there’s no need to thank us anything for a friend so what’s going to happen to your mom?” Tommy asked
“Well after she gave her statement to the police she and me had a long talk about Fisher. She told me that at first he was really nice and acted like he really wanted to help my mom” But as soon as she found out that he was wanted for stealing valuable coins from his last employer and was selling them on the internet inside those dolls. She threaten him to turn him in”
“But he told her if she dare to open her mouth that he’d hurt me and it’ll be all her fault,” Timmy explained
“Oh wow!” Cookie answered
“But the cool thing that she told me was that after everything we did that we are her heroes who saved her life. And is going to do her very best to make it up to us,” Timmy proudly added
“Awesome!” And what’s going to happen to Fisher and his creepy friend does she know?” Daisy asked
“Oh, they’re going to be going away for a very long, long, long time. But before the chief turned him in to the feds he placed a note inside Fisher’s pocket saying that if any other crooks even dare to come into our town”
“They better think again cause they didn’t want the We Always Catch Our Crooks Club to go after them in any way!” Timmy laughed
